Cranky? I'll Show You Cranky

This is one mother who wasn't afraid to fight when they tried to pull the plug on her babies!

I note that the father-to-be had been "removed from her tank for crankiness" and subsequently died.

This has all the makings of a good tabloid story.

  • Sooo cute. Made me think of Charlotte's Web. Talk about genetic survival--all these creatures who die just as their offspring emerge. How do you know when an octopus is cranky?

  • That was a glaring omission in the article.

Seems kind of unfair -- the poor female octopus was trying valiantly to nurture her thousands of eggs, and even had to fight against receding water when the humans decided to train the tank, but the male was cranky.
